板違いだけど、MacOSXなら
$ open hoge.pdf
でプレビューを起動して、マウスで抜き出したい範囲を選択して、
コピー→クリップボードから新規作成→名前をつけ保存
$ pdftops -eps fuga.pdf fuga.eps
これで自由自在にpdfをcropしてepsが作成できる。文字でも図でも全体でも部分でも
ベクタ形式のままでepsができる。
注意点としては、includegraphics{}のbbオプションは、
$ strings fuga.pdf |grep 'Box'
