AFAIK It's very rare in 2ch/pinkbbs to merge unsuccessful boards once created.
If possible, I recommend to merge wildplus, femnewsplus, dqnplus and ticketplus into one "socialplus" board. They all lack both reporters and residents, and there's no PLUS board that corresponds to socio-news. (we already have political, economic, international, scientific and sport/entertainment ones. Only social one is missing.)
Usually we don't merge boards b/c usually a few (very few, but not zero) residents do exist in any board and there's no harm in keeping unpopulated boards.
I recommend to merge some PLUS boards b/c they need volunteers (CAP) to work correctly, unlike other normal boards.

Hello Jim-san. According to "developer.2ch.net/", "All 2ch browsers" are banned to get 2ch posts from read.cgi. But, developer.2ch.net doesn't mention "2ch.net-related services". Is it allowed that "2ch.net-related services" gets 2ch posts from read.cgi?
Many developers have declared the development stop as fact. Or rather, I don't know 2ch browser to continued development. Perhaps half of the people this state will not have from here.
Just now I've heard that 2ch eco system will drastically change in coming March, and development of browser for the new system is strictlly controlled under your permission. I am just a reader, and not a developer, so I do NOT intend to develop new browser of my own, but I am afraid that many browsers cannot remain after this change - the browser I usually use may disappear.
So I would like to confirm whether you mind/ban the following activities done by users for their own convenience to read 2ch:
1. To read 2ch by general web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and etc. 2. To build "add-on" for the above browsers to modify the rendering of 2ch threads. 3. To share such add-on for other uses.
As long as I know, there are no regulation to give web administrators any authorities to ban the users' right to do the above 2 nor 3 in Japan. If you limited access to 2ch such that only permitted browsers could do, the above 1 becomes unable and also the 2 and 3, but I guess you do not hope such closed system.
Anyway, I would like to know your policy for the above, concerning the new 2ch. Could you please let me (and many other users) know your opinion about this?

Jim-san is saying that there are no problem because he already met and talked with developpers of major browsers and they understood everything. But now, many developpers have declared discontinue development of their browsers, and some people mention the reason as that they do not want to obey conditions shown by Yamashita-san, e.g. they should tell their personel information to him, he can command them urgent fix (in 14 days) of their browsers, and etc.
So I wonder whether there is difference between Jim-san's explanation to them and Yamashita-san's one. I think Jim-san should communicate directly with developpers to calm this confusion, because Yamashita-san do not announce any more detailed explanation.
Please let me know if anyone know browser permitted by Yamashita-san other than his Jane Style.
Many OSX user uses V2C. Because not so much options for them.
I think this movement let OSX users get lost ... Some will use browser or some will use AUTHORIZED browser. But most must leave 2ch.net. Because it's very messy to access via web browser or to change 2ch browser.
I predict that after closing .dat access route , Mac boards are going to begin depopulation.

The developers of normal browsers are imposed on many restrictions by Yamashita.
Firstly, they are forced to send their personal information, such as their real name, address, telephone number and so on, to Yamashita. Some authors (e.g., Jane View, Jane Xeno, 2Live, Twintail) don't want to provide their personal information, so they may stop developing. In fact, some of them already have decleared they don't continue to develop any more. (e.g., qerozon.jp/archives/1725 )
Secondly, because the API key is required to be stored secretly, most of the open-source dedicated browsers will be affected. There are lots of open-source browsers: V2C, ギコナビ(Giko-navi), navi2ch, chaika, BathyScaphe, Thousand, JD, rep2, Freeze Owata+1, etc. They were not able to get the permission of access to the new API duo to the lack of ability to store the key confidentially.

More than 20 browsers will be banished by Yamashita. (>>930) He also makes browser(and it's controversial one), so I can well believe he contrive to exile all other browsers.
Hey, Jim! I made Test Proxy Service for old 2ch's browser which new api can't use or not permit new api. This program use Firefox/Chrome and Those browser display 2ch/pink and convert from browser's displaying HTML to dat file. If you write 2ch/pink, those browser display 2ch/pink and fill the form and post automatically.
I stand for the decision you've made. Some people may complain about it, but please don't feel bad. Haters gonna hate. They seem to fear that most of the 2ch browsers will cease to exist because they don't know what's going on. But in the end, most of the browsers will survive if the developers take the appropriate responses. I'm calling it.
Yamashita does no harm compared to those affiliate matome blogs. In the past few years, tons of them have been founded. I don't care about them making money from advertising. What I hate is that whenever I google something, all I see are those articles reprinted from 2ch with annoying "wwwww" suffix. As you may already know, those strings of "w's" are just like a Japanese version of "lol".
They sometimes even spread false information reprinted from 2ch for advertising revenue, which should not be tolerated. Can you imagine how annoying it would be if your Google search results were full of "lololololol" bullshit? Some affiliate matome blogs are seriously messing with Google search results.
Anyway, I think your decision to implement API in 2ch is a huge step in the right direction. Keep going, Jim!
Are you deceived, Jim? Yamashita announced no specification and no rule last year. Developers made no agreement with Yamashita, but only requested information about new API.
