Hey. I probably won't be on as much this week. : (
>>954 Sorry! I was just saying that even though it's good that some media are helping large people to feel confident, it is worrying me that Americans are starting to think that being overweight is "healthy." Because so many stars have become anorexic lately, all the larger people are able to say that all skinny people are unhealthy, which of course isn't true. Also, I asked it you think that it's really OK for overweight people to get their confidence from the media and each other? I wonder a little bit if it eliminates the need for them to exercise and become healthier? >>960 Thanks. ^_^ >>961 I do some sit-ups and push-ups (but not a lot) and I walk around my town or on the treadmill. I don't know if thin people are discriminated against at job interviews. I think it is still harder for overweight people to get hired, because many bosses are from the older generations, and becuase being overweight is associated with laziness or slowness (though that isn't always the case).
Thin people are having it difficult in social situations, though. Many young stars have admitted to having eating disorders, and now there is an obsession with saying that every skinny girl is starving herself. Larger women talk about their "curves" and say that skinny girls have the body of a child. Now that overweight people are in the majority, it is becoming somewhat hard for girls who aren't overweight. Everywhere in society and on TV, people are talking about "real women." In order for people who are naturally thin to put on weight, they would have to overat and not exercise, you know? Actually, thin men don't have it difficult. Everyone still prefers a lean guy to a chubby one. Even overweight women who say that they "have a body" and skinnier girls don't, want men who don't have excess fat. Men are starting to say that they want a woman with some excess fat. The way I see it, everyone should just respect everyone else... Instead, all the people around me are arguing about who has a better body, and insulting people. : ( >>962 I'll try to find one we haven't already used. ^_~
>>949 I suppose you should do anything that make you feel better, rather than for physical things. For example, putting on make-up is for making your feeling better. There's some person who regards you as a plain-looking, because each person has own preferences. But if you relax and feel good about yourself, the energy reaches to the person around you, and it makes them feel better.
I suppose you don't have to make up with your "enemy." You have nothing to do with them. But please don't dislike them too much. Women around you are watching your appearances severely. They may notice what you feel. But don't worry too much.
Thank you for praising my English. (I was a bit upset.) Recently I am reading only dictionaries.
I noticed that my writings are getting longer. Maybe I was annoying someone else. Now I'm very sorry about it.
>>971 My brain is too slow to follow your writings.
>>971 > Now that overweight people are in the majority, it is becoming > somewhat hard for girls who aren't overweight.
Okay, I am a big fan of you. I love your videos. I think you are not only cute but also faithful.
But I have to say something. Magibon, please don't try to play the tragic heroine. I know it is a common desire to all the women from all over the world, but please.
Maybe you are right, but it sounds sarcastic when it is said by a good looking thin girl such as yourself. If you wrote this on YouTube, people would immediately start bashing you.
And please keep in mind we also have fat people in Japan. Probably there are some on this thread too.
>>973 Please don't tell me I'm playing anything. Have you been accused of having a disease or psychological problem just because of how you look? I feel very fortunate and thankful that I am *healthy*. There are millioms of people on this planet who have a lot less than I do. But, I am telling you that it is no more acceptable to disrespect a person for being thin than it is to disrespect a person for being overweight. As I said, I want everyone to not worry so much about each other's bodies. And, I'm not claiming that anyone is my enemy, but rather deciding on their own that I am theirs.
I'm not prejudiced against anyone. You, it seems, have a prejudice against women. Or, is that not so?
I'd roll my eyes if a slim person asked for pity... I'm just asking for equal respect. Get it?
Anyway, this topic is tired and no one else is interested.
