North Korea test-fired several short-range missiles from its eastern coast into the Sea of Japan. The tests, believed to be part of annual drills, did not constitute a “grave issue for Japan’s security,” Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan said. The launchings occurred even as American officials continued to try to obtain the release of North Korean funds from a bank in Macao, a critical step in February’s nuclear agreement.
