俺の環境は6600と8600GTでDVIがメインで1680x1050、VGAがサブで1280x1024で使ってる。
別に問題なく一つの立方体になってる。
7.10の時も、8.04の時も、xorg.confのSection"Screen"の箇所をいじっただけだ。
DVIがデフォだとサブ扱いになるので、入れ替えてるけどな。

仕事場のヤツは1280x1024が二つで、適当に設定してやったら、キューブが8角形になってるw。
参考にしてください。
これはNvidiaのドライバが用意してるデュアルディスプレイ設定だから、ATIやらでは使えません。
