- うちのEdgy環境はBeryl入れるまでさほど苦労しなかった
以下参考までに。グラボはATiのRadeon9600相当です
１ sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.confで編集画面を出す
２ Moduleセクションに追加（定義を重複させないこと）
Load "dri"
Load "dbe"
Load "glx"
３ Deviceセクションに追加
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps"
４ xorg.confの末尾に追加
Section "DRI" ←
Mode 0666 ←これはデフォで入ってるはず
EndSection ←
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection
５ /etc/apt/sources.listに以下を追加
deb ubuntu.beryl-project.org/ edgy main
deb-src ubuntu.beryl-project.org edgy main
６ GPGキーを追加
wget ubuntu.beryl-project.org/root@lupine.me.uk.gpg -0- | sudo apt-key add -
７ Beryl本体？をインスコ
sudo apt-get install beryl emerald-themes
８ テスト立ち上げ
beryl-managerコマンドで立ち上がるか確認する

９ Berylセッションをシステムに登録する
gksudo gedit /usr/bin/startberyl.shで新規スクリプト編集、内容は
#!/bin/sh
beryl-manager
sleep 4
exec gnome-session
これに実行可能パーミッションを与える（text to executable)
chmod a+x /usr/bin/startberyl.sh
で、作ったスクリプトをシステムに登録する
sudo gedit /usr/share/xsessions/Beryl.desktop
このファイルの内容は以下のとおり
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Beryl
Exec=/usr/bin/startberyl.sh
Icon=
Type=Application
編集が終わったら保存してgdm（ログイン画面）の
セッションを選んでみてください。これで終わり
