It was very troublesome, however it can be better and amusing if it only displays "popularity" of thread or response instead of killing the thread.
AFAIK It's very rare in 2ch/pinkbbs to merge unsuccessful boards once created.
If possible, I recommend to merge wildplus, femnewsplus, dqnplus and ticketplus into one "socialplus" board. They all lack both reporters and residents, and there's no PLUS board that corresponds to socio-news. (we already have political, economic, international, scientific and sport/entertainment ones. Only social one is missing.)
Usually we don't merge boards b/c usually a few (very few, but not zero) residents do exist in any board and there's no harm in keeping unpopulated boards.
I recommend to merge some PLUS boards b/c they need volunteers (CAP) to work correctly, unlike other normal boards.
There is a movement from which I migrate to bbpink in iyachoita now. If bbpimk isn't reprinted, I'm thinking whether I can't move a board of 2ch in sequence.
We have always immigrated board to Pink Channel. Gagame is an example. This current board is taking 3shuchaku which had super light usage and repurposing it on the new aoi.bbspink.com/3shuchaku/ server because that has many resources available. It is basically a new board with things some of the community on fox.2ch.net/poverty/ wanted to change. I am watching it with interest. I think something new will happen there. Not just a migration.
