You know, I heard there are lots of opportunities to have to ask a girl out
or to go to a party and all.

I think I am lucky to live in Japan. If I lived in US, I would be
considered wierd man not being able to ask a girl out or have a ball
at parties.

There is not such a thing as dance parties hosted by school in Japan.
I heard there are three or four parties a year at school in US.
I would have ended up joining at prom without a partner at senior year.

What happens to a boy who is shy enough not find a partner for prom?
Is it OK to participate in prom without a partner?
