見てみました。バス上での見え方は変わらないようです(普通にUSBキーボードに見えてる)。
問題は hid→usbkbd の変化ですか。というか、この部分をカーネルのどこが判断して
表示させてるのかはわからないんですが。

で、えーと、デフォルトカーネルでは hid.o と usbkbd.o/usbmouse.o とかが両方入ってたり
します? (すみません今手元に環境がないので確認できないのです)

だとするとまずいですね。このへんのデバイス毎のドライバ(usbkbd, usbmouse等)と
HID系の統合ドライバである hid.o は干渉します。一応、hid.o を使うことが推奨
されてますし。

そのへんが悪戯してる? いずれにせよ、起動直後は usbkbd.o で認識できないようですし。
