LFG理論に基づく自然言語処理を30年近く続けてきたRon Kaplanが
Powerset社に参加し，サーチエンジンに自然言語処理を本格的に
応用する。

Kaplan, who has led the [Xerox PARC] “natural language” group for several years,
joined Powerset as chief technology officer in July.

LFGを応用すると，こんな検索が可能となるそうだ。
“Who acquired IBM?” Google will give you lots of results about companies that
IBM acquired, even though that’s not what you asked. Powerset, on the other
hand, will give results of the companies that acquired IBM units

LFGは日本語の処理も可能で，多言語対応版はXFGと呼ばれている。

ACL2007ではPowerset社COEが基調講演を行った。講演後にKaplanとともに
皆の祝福を受けていた。
