V2500エンジンの歴史に必ず出てくるのがRJ500

The partners in the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation originally collaborated
with Rolls-Royce in the late 1970s to develop the 20,000 lbf (89 kN) thrust
RJ500 for commercial aviation's most successful platform, the Boeing 737-300,
but the RJ500 programme was cancelled in the early 80's, after two engines had been rig tested.

このエンジンコアがどんなものだったのか、
はたまたRJ500の燃焼室を流用して、どこまでパワフルな戦闘機用エンジンが出来ていたことやら？！？！！

と夢想するのは勝手だ。
日本はRJ500の自由カスタマイズの権利を有しておくべきだったのではないか？

そうすれば、FS-Xでこれを低バイパス化して使うという選択肢があったかも分からんのだ
ともあれ、一応地上テストまではやっていた訳か
