Social media has more blood on its hands after two men suspected of being child killers were dragged out of their Mexican jail cell and burned alive.
They were innocent.
According to local media reports, a cheering mob made their move as rumours swirled around WhatsApp that the doomed duo was part of a “plague of child kidnappers”.
Three children — aged four, eight and 14 — had recently been found murdered around San Vicente Boqueron, Mexico.
Their abdomens had been sliced open and the organs removed.
The message said: “Please everyone be alert because a plague of child kidnappers has entered the country. It appears that these criminals are involved in organ trafficking…
“In the past few days, children aged four, eight and 14 have disappeared and some of these kids have been found dead with signs that their organs were removed. Their abdomens had been cut open and were empty.”
On Aug, 29, the mob made its move on Ricardo Flores, 21, and his uncle, Alberto Flores, 43.
