実際、当時の日本では官憲が売春業者と癒着していることは珍しいことではなかった。
現在も風俗や歓楽街での業者と警察の持ちつ持たれつの関係は残っているだろ。
そういう事実は海外でも知られているので性奴隷関連でも日本の官憲は協力していた
だろうと考える人は多いんだよ。

As a person conversant with Japanese history and culture, it’s hardly surprising that Japanese authorities
helped or at least gave the pimps some facilities for their business, because I know a lot of facts like police
boxes around prostitute-quaters had a role of catching escaped prostitutes to take them back to brothels
and that kind of corruptions are still widely seen in present-day Japan, represented by the one between infamous
Pachinko industry and police. Authorities have always been hand in hand with vested interests in that country.
Besides, that cultural peculiarity of Japan, which values social stability over personal rights, deteriorated the
issue by emphasizing legitimacy of comfort women system and making light of their anguish, I suppose.
日本の歴史と文化をよく知る者として、日本の官憲が業者を手助けしたか、少なくとも彼らのビジネスが円滑に進む
よう何らかの便宜を図ったということは驚くに値しないよ。自分は沢山の事実、たとえば遊郭の周辺の交番には
逃亡した娼婦を捕まえて売春宿に送り返すという役割があったということを知っているし、現代日本においてもこの手
の癒着はあの悪名高いパチンコ業界と警察に代表されるように広く見られるんだ。あの国では権力は常に既得権と
手を結んできたんだよ。それに個人の権利より社会の安定性を重視する日本の文化的特徴が、慰安婦制度の合法性
ばかり強調し、個々の苦悩を軽視することで余計に問題を悪化させたんじゃないかな。（フランス）
