The purpose of politics is to rid human social life of the violence that is the price of anarchy by substituting for it the peace and security of which the price is law and order.
Success in achieving this purpose is the standard of judgment by which the value of a political system has to be judged.
政治の目的は、人間の社会生活から、無政府状態の代償である暴力を除去し、
そのかわりに、法と秩序の代償である平和と安全をもたらすことである。
この目的をどの程度に達成することができるかが、政治体制の価値を測るべき尺度なのである。
後半の主語の部分（Success in achieving this purpose ）の訳され方と、後半の文の構造？がよく分からないです。
