でっかい英英辞典には、次のように書いてある。定義文も例文もすべて
目を通せば、とても勉強になる。

pull up
a. transitive. To draw (a horse's reins) tight, as a means of stopping;
to cause (a horse, or horse-drawn vehicle) to stop by doing this;
to bring to a halt.
