分詞構文の意味上の主語は明示されていない限り、主節の主語と同じと習いました。
以下の文のように、主節がthere is a tendency to ～の場合、分詞構文arisingの
意味上の主語はa tendencyですか？
Arising out of this feeling of dissatisfaction there is a tendency nowadays
to speak less of "democracy" and more of "participation" as a better name
for the thing that we ought to have but haven't got.
