TURKEY'S president has vowed to ban the iPhone in a bid to hurt America.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the surprise announcement today, promising revenge for the USA's "economic warfare" against Turkey.
Turkey is currently suffering from economic sanctions and raised trade tariffs imposed by the USA.
These sanctions were enforced as a push-back from Washington over Turkey's detention of an American evangelical pastor.

During today's speech, Erdoğan said: "We will boycott US electronic products.
"If they have iPhone, the other side has Samsung."
He also added that Turkey offers its own smartphone brands, saying: "In our country there is Venus, Vestel."
It's likely that Erdoğan won't actually forbid ownership of the iPhone.
Instead, this is almost certainly a sales boycott – where Turkish tech stores would be forbidden from flogging iPhone models.
Just under 17% of all mobile devices in Turkey run on Apple's iOS software, so it's a hugely popular device in the country.
The iPhone, of course, is built by Apple, a famously American company based in Cupertino, California.
US tech companies – who might be hit by Turkey's boycott?
These are the most valuable American tech firms, and how much they're worth...
Apple (California) – $1trillion
Amazon (Washington) – $881billion
Alphabet/Google (California) – $834billion
Microsoft (Washington) – $825billion
Intel (California) – $242billion
IBM (New York) – $134billion
Dell (Texas) – private, but $78.6billion in revenue
Tesla (California) – $59.97billion
HP (California) – $37billion
It's no surprise that Erdoğan is targeting Apple: the company is now America's most valuable corporate asset.
Earlier this month, Apple became the first public company to break past a $1trillion valuation on the stock market – making American history.
Meanwhile, relations between Erdoğan and the USA have been breaking down, plunging Turkey into economic crisis.
The value of the Turkish lira has been plummeting in recent months, having fallen around 45% since the beginning of 2018.
